SUMMARY:The Legendary Pink Dots
DESCRIPTION:THE LEGENDARY PINK DOTS\nThe music made by The Legendary Pink D
ots has incorporated elements of neo psychedelia\, ambient music\, electro
 nic music\, tape music\, psychedelic folk\, synthpop\, post-punk\, progres
sive jazz\, noise music\, pop music\, goth rock and alternative rock….oc
casionally all at the same time.\nOften likened to an industrial version o
f Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd\, it was actually early David Bowie\, The Res
idents\, Can\, Faust and musique concrete composers such as Pierre Henry w
ho were far bigger influences on the Dots when they started out. Indeed\,
the lengthy fever dream-like sonic expeditions that litter the band’s ca
talogue have often received the greatest praise.\n“For those unfamiliar
with The Legendary Pink Dots (where have you been all these years?)\, thin
k a mixture of ‚In Search Of Space‘ era Hawkwind and ‚Piper At The G
ates Of Dawn‘ era Pink Floyd\, only with the ability to utilise modern t
echnology” THE MIDLANDS ROCKS\nThe group currently comprises Edward Ka-S
 pel (vocals\, keyboards\, songwriter)\, Erik Drost (guitars)\, Randall Fra
zier (keyboards\, electronics) and Joep Hendrikx (live electronics). Opera
ting outside the mainstream\, their discography consists of 40+ studio alb
ums and they have amassed a devoted following worldwide\, touring frequent
 ly to promote their releases.
